Business and science
For an events venue to work, there first need to be close links between business and science.
The driving principle behind Bremen’s Technology Park is the fusion of business and academia with a global reach. By creating a close network of highly innovative firms and the City of Bremen’s research and educational institutions, a new world of cross-fertilisation and communication is created.
Bremen’s innovation clusters
As the home of Airbus Defence & Space, OHB System and Center of applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM), Bremen is one of Germany’s top aerospace industry locations. More than 4,000 employees develop and produce Airbus wings, the Columbus laboratory for the International Space Station (ISS), upper stage technologies for carriers, small satellites for science, communication and Earth observation, and advanced technologies for manned space travel.
Renewable energies, with wind at the forefront
The federal state of Bremen has more than 150 firms operating in various sub-sectors of the wind industry, including a number of leading manufacturers and developers of onshore and offshore wind farms.
Bremen is a hotspot for logistics expertise, with more than 1,000 companies in the docks, transport and logistics industries, and a centre of competence for maritime safety (Marissa).

Industries in which Bremen has a great deal to offer:
Bremen is home to Europe’s second largest Mercedes-Benz plant, with a 13,000-strong workforce, and the economic area as a whole currently boasts some 600 automotive suppliers.
Food and beverages
Bremen and Bremerhaven hold a dominant position in the food industry. The region can justifiably call itself a ‘brand capital’ in this respect, thanks to a list of locally manufactured household names such as Beck’s beer, Milka, Jacobs, Philadelphia cream cheese, Kaffee HAG, Kellogg’s, Hachez, Frosta, Vitakraft and Nordsee.
