Flea market on the Bürgerweide
Sundays aren't the same without a trip to the flea market on the Bürgerweide.
Some people come looking for bargain antiques, others for that rare LP they can't find in any shop. Some just want to pick up a cheap, second-hand wrench, and for many it's simply become the thing to do on a Sunday. For locals, Sundays aren't the same without a trip to the flea market on the Bürgerweide, one of the largest of its kind anywhere in Germany, which always draws thousands of visitors from Bremen and further afield.
During the summer season, until the beginning of September, the market takes place in front of the Schlachthof arts centre. It then transfers to the Hansa Carré and returns to its usual site in the spring.
