German Tourism Association (DTV)
Germany is a popular tourist destination. One in three of all trips by Germans takes place in Germany so it is hardly surprising that tourism is a key industry, employing more than 2 million people and generating annual revenues of almost €140 billion. As the interest group for public-sector tourism organisations, the German Tourism Association (DTV) therefore has an increasingly important role to play. The DTV is made up of the tourism organisations of the federal states plus more than 6,000 villages, towns and cities relevant to the tourism industry. Many prominent sustaining members, such as the ADAC and Deutsche Bahn, support its work with political decision-makers at national and European level. As a membership association, the DTV is neutral and independent and is therefore a sought-after source of expertise, services and quality assurance.
