17 Sept 2017 Vegesack district
This market in Bremen's Vegesack district is held twice a year, in spring and in autumn. The name Loggermarkt derives from Heringslogger (herring lugger), a type of ship with three masts. Here in the old docklands several stalls offer not only herring but also several other types of fish to sample and enjoy. Shanty choirs, jazz bands and pop singers will entertain you on the stage in Hafenwald.
Whether you are looking for art, kitsch or household items you're sure to find something you like at one of the 50 or so stalls. The accompanying flea market below Stadtgarten and along the river Weser is ideal for browsing.
