The Town Musicians Play
Every Sunday between May and October, the donkey, dog, cat and rooster take centre stage on cathedral square for the Town Musicians Play. The performance features the four animals as actors rather than musicians and is a real delight for visitors and those out for a Sunday stroll. At the opening of the show, onlookers from around the world are welcomed in their native language. The thrilling adventures of the animals are recreated on a mobile stage, which is reminiscent of the times of street performers and travelling entertainers. This enchanting play tells the story of the Bremen Town Musicians in a fun and entertaining fashion.
The free performance begins at 12 noon on cathedral square (Domshof) and lasts a good half hour.
House of History in the Schnoor quarter
A guided tour of the House of History in the Schnoor quarter is like taking a journey through Bremen's past. Find out about the infamous lady poisoner Gesche Gottfried and the eccentric Heini Holtenbeen – a true Bremen character. Of course, there is plenty of attention given to the Bremen Town Musicians as well, whose adventures are vividly brought to life in a mechanically operated puppet show.
