The Schlachthof's varied programme of entertainment includes concerts and youth theatre, readings and parties, exhibitions and workshops. There's something for everyone here, whether you're a fan of comedy, hip-hop, literature, punk rock, youth theatre or world music.
You can discover new cultures at the Roots Nights, a series of concerts featuring international acts such as Mariza and Fanfare Ciocarlia as well as rising newcomers, or hear a-cappella groups from Germany and abroad in the Vocal Heroes series. Other sold-out events have included rock and pop concerts by bands like Motorpsycho and Tocotronic, and readings by authors Charlotte Roche and Wladimir Kaminer.
The Schlachthof runs workshops that are experimental, interdisciplinary, critical and innovative. In the media, theatre and newspaper workshop, young people and dedicated amateurs work together on projects which unleash their powers of expression and often present their creations to an audience.
