The changing face of a district

Guided tour for groups

Description

On your guided walk through St. Stephen's quarter, which dates back more than 860 years, you'll experienced a district transformed. Once a bustling mix of labourers, packing houses and alleyways, it was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. After remaining locked in a timewarp for decades, St. Stephen's and the Faulenstrasse quarter are undergoing something of a renaissance.

The area is well on its way to becoming a media hub and a desirable place to live, with Radio Bremen relocated in one of Europe's most modern broadcasting houses, Bremen's Adult Education Centre now in Bamberger Haus and the Schlachte Embankment extending along the Weser river. From the observation platform on Bamberger Haus you can enjoy a marvellous panoramic view of the area.
