Explore the wonderful world of tea at the headquarters of Berthold Vollers GmbH, a company steeped in tradition. Tea is part of everyday life all over the world. After water, it’s the most consumed drink on the planet. No other beverage is as versatile, and few others play such a fascinating role in cultural history.The Teetied tea ceremony tour explains the story of tea in an entertaining and engaging way. Get an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes at Schuppen 6, the Berthold Voller warehouse next to Europahafen harbour, where the international logistics company not only stores tea for large, well-known customers but also processes and refines it according to its customers’ secret recipes. The history of tea and its uses are presented in the seminar room overlooking the warehouse. How is tea grown and processed? What is rain tea? What is a first flush? Is there such a thing as five o’clock tea? And what do Earl Grey and eau de cologne have in common?
The 90-minute programme is rounded off with a tea tasting and a cup of Frisian tea. Run by Speicher XI Dockland Museum in cooperation with Berthold Vollers GmbH. Includes Tea seminar and tasting.
