20/20 Vision: The Collection Remixed
Change of scenery! For the first time in nearly a decade, the Kunsthalle Bremen is launching a new presentation of its collec¬tion. Not only the wall colours will be changing but also the history of art we are telling. Surprising finds from the depot are juxtaposed with well-known and much loved masterpieces, entering into a creative dialogue. Outstanding works of art from the late Middle Ages to the present day also illustrate the extraordinary tradition of the Kunstverein in Bremen and the story of its numerous civic supporters. The new presentation inten¬tionally connects international art history with a Bremen perspective. This can also be seen in the galleries that focus on current issues such as global trade, war and conflict as well as the forest – from the Roman¬tic idyll to the threat of climate change. Themes like these have affected humanity for centuries and the works of art reflect their continuing relevance.
