Bürgerpark and the municipal forest
The Bürgerpark is one of Germany’s best-maintained country parks. Together with the adjacent woodland, it covers an area of 202 hectares.
The beginnings of Bremen's 'green lungs' can be found right behind the exhibition centre close to the main train station. Bremen Bürgerpark and the neighbouring municipal forest are perfect for an outing at any time of year.
In summer, you can play mini golf and hire rowing boats here, and all year round the paths are used for jogging. There are also separate tracks for horse riders to explore the park. Kids will love the playgrounds and the animal enclosures always get lots of visitors, especially when there are young ones to admire.
Several places cater for food and drink and it's not unusual to find entertainment on offer in the park. Particularly popular are performances by the Bremen Shakespeare Company and the Music and Light concert at Lake Hollersee.
In short, the Bürgerpark has something for everyone and is a must for any trip to Bremen.
