Shopping in Bremen is a sheer delight because the city centre is so compact, yet manages to have countless boutiques, fashion shops, department stores, restaurants and a strong sense of culture.
Shopping in the historical city centre of Bremen is an experience in its own right. The streets are lined with high-end retail outlets, cafés and bars. If you look up, you'll also see a multitude of impressive gables. Some of the buildings here are Bremen merchants' houses whose ground floors have been modernised, but whose upper floors still feature the architecture of bygone eras.
To make your shopping spree even more enjoyable, the CityInitiative has produced a CityGuide. It suggests a number of shopping routes through the city to help you get your bearings quickly and easily, and tells you about the wide range of goods on offer in around 450 specialist shops and department stores.
This brochure is available free of charge at members of the CityInitiative and from Tourist Information at Böttcherstrasse or in the main station.
