Climbing to your heart's content in Walsrode
The six trails at Walsrode bird park's high-ropes course currently feature more than 100 climbing elements that cover a range of heights and difficulty levels.
Balance on wobbly rope bridges like Indiana Jones, zip across the water on a 50-metre-high steel cable like James Bond or channel your inner Jack Sparrow as you conquer the pirate-themed obstacle course. If all that sounds like fun, then Activity Park Walsrode is the place for you.
The high-ropes course at a glance:
• Six trails at heights of up to 13 metres
• More than 100 climbing elements
• 20 metre rope bridge
In over four hectares of forest criss-crossed by streams and lakes, you can enjoy more than 100 experiences ranging from nets, rope bridges and zip wires to climbing walls and skateboarding.
After a short safety briefing, climbers aged six and over put on their harness and gloves and explore the forest under their own steam. Safety is paramount. Visitors are monitored by supervisors on the ground who can point out mistakes and come to the rescue if required. The high-ropes course is particularly suitable for schools, clubs, families, corporate events and people looking for a new experience.
Football and golf – a marriage made in heaven. This fun sport originates from Sweden, which now even hosts world championships. The aim is to kick the football into the cup at the end of each of the 18 holes in as few shots as possible. The players have to use skill and cunning to overcome the various obstacles. Their feet serve as the club. At the end, whoever has the taken the fewest kicks to complete the course is the winner.
