Himmelssaal at the Bremen Radisson Blu Hotel
The Himmelssaal or ‘sky room’ in Haus Atlantis is an art deco hall from around 1930 with a domed ceiling of blue and white glass tiles.
Haus Atlantis is a vision of Atlantis set in stone, based on the controversial theories of mythologist Herman Wirth, who claimed that Atlantis was located in the North Sea.
Haus Atlantis was partially destroyed in 1944, but the Himmelssaal or 'sky room' and the famous staircase survived in their original form. Today, Haus Atlantis is part of a Radisson Blu hotel. The Himmelssaal with its white and blue glass brick ceiling can be hired for events, and is open to the public for viewing.
