Hotels in the north of Bremen
Fresh air and green fields – Bremen's north has so much on offer for tourists. There is plenty to see and do here, from art and culture to charming parks and waterside locations. In Vegesack, about 20 kilometres from the centre of Bremen, the history of seafaring and shipbuilding is alive and well. Pride of place goes to the Maritime Mile along the river Weser. Here you can take a guided tour aboard the Schulschiff Deutschland tall ship. A little further upstream you will find the Bunker Valentin memorial site, a ruined U-boat pen that belonged to the German navy at the time of the Second World War. It's a fantastic place to learn more about German history.
Knoops Park offers a more romantic way to visit the past, for example with a picnic at the Summer in Lesmona open-air music festival. Or you can explore the beauty of Schloss Schönebeck palace and Burg Blomendal, a medieval moated house.
You can spend the night in Bremen's north with views over the river, or even aboard a boat – you'll be surprised at what's on offer.
