This cycling tour starts at St. Martin's quay at the Schlachte Embankment. Before setting off, you can fortify yourself for the journey ahead in one of the numerous restaurants or cafés in the area.
Follow the embankment and the cycle path on Osterdeich, which will bring you to the Weser Stadium, where football fans of all ages will enjoy the Wuseum dedicated to the history of the Werder Bremen team.
Passing through the area known as Peterswerder, you'll see the impressive Weserwehr power station ahead of you. This is also where you will cross the Weser itself. Arriving on the other side of the river, you will find yourself on the Werderinsel in the middle of the Neue Weser nature reserve.
This is where the return leg of your journey begins. Ride along the bank of the Werdersee for a few kilometres and then back along the bank of the river, where you'll find the popular Café Sand. Right on the Weserstrand, or river beach, the café is a great place to stop for a while.
The next sight along the route is the water tower – known affectionately by locals as 'the upside down chest of drawers'. The tour finishes on the Teerhof, where you could visit the Weserburg, Bremen's modern art museum.
