Applied Art Bremen AKB
Association of 50 professional craftspeople from different trades. The association holds irregular exhibitions at a variety of venues.
Angewandte Kunst Bremen e.V. (AKB) is a community of around 50 artisans established in 1959. What unites them is their artistic ambition and desire for perfection in their craftsmanship.
As a group and individually they represent arts and crafts in Bremen at numerous national and international exhibitions, fairs and competitions. Several members have received notable awards. The group meet periodically to exchange ideas and experiences and to hold workshops. The members regularly display their current works, for example in the park of Focke Museum, at Wilhelm Wagenfeld House or at various individual and group exhibitions.
AKB is the regional branch of the national association Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk. Disciplines include ceramics, glass, jewellery and artefacts, books and paper, textiles, metal and stone.
